As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Request a Prayer

Youth Group Adventures

By Rick & Carolyn Bridge

May 3rd

We met at the Bridge property and continued our second-last chapter of the book “Love Wins”. We read about the prodigal son. We talked about God's grace, how the eldest son felt, and how the youngest son felt as compared to what God's narrative was about them. We enjoyed a beautiful ice cream cake from money gifted from Wendy Squires, who was touched by the youth service and by Dolores Duke. We celebrated all the birthdays we may have missed.

Shawn Broughton gave us a safety talk about bows and arrows. We went to the barn where targets were set up. We tried slingshots, bows and arrows, and pellet guns. It was fun to try the different equipment and learn from Shawn's incredible knowledge and hunting experience. We enjoyed a bonfire. One member read some scripture verses from the Ascent youth retreat. We closed in prayer and roasted some marshmallows.

After finishing our study book “Love Wins”, we had great discussion on “Liar Liar” work sheets and Jesus as a youth. We discussed the hardest things teens face as they grow up and if or when it is ever ok to lie. What does God say about it? We made tie-dye shirts for the June 14th service and for our year end.
