“Raisin” Funds
I heard it through the grapevine…
As Darrell headed into retirement, his gift to everyone at First Baptist Church was a proposed fundraiser to get him to eat raisins!
For every $25 raised, he promised to eat one raisin.
The response was exceptional! $2595.00 was raised to go towards future improvements of the air conditioning system. Darrell ate 103 raisins on June 8th. Wendy Squires provided the raisins. “Nurse Bernie” was on hand with a barf bag. (It was not used. Phew!)
