As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Welcome to our home on the Internet. As with everything we do, we intend this website to honour God. If you like what you find here, come along and experience how we honour Him at the corner of Young and Talbot streets in Simcoe, Ontario.

September is going to be an exciting time at First Baptist. All of those details and more are in the September newsletter. You'll also find stories and photos from VBS, family camping, and other summer activities. It's packed with information about events at the church, so be sure to read it today. You don't want to miss out!

2. NEW “Lighthouse Kids” Program

Posted On: Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025

First Baptist Simcoe is launching a new children's program, Lighthouse Kids. It will start September 12th and run every Friday after that from 6:30-8:00pm. The program is for all children (not just those within the church family) in Junior Kindergarden to Grade 5. (Grade 6 and up can be part of the Youth Group instead.) Drop-ins are encouraged! Contact Jordan or Rachel Lahn for more information. Additional volunteers are also needed and it can be on a rotational basis. A valid police check is required to volunteer.

3. Update on Minister Search

Posted On: Monday, August 25th, 2025

Everyone who regularly attends First Baptist will receive a letter in late August announcing that a candidate to be the church's new minister will be our guest speaker on Sunday, September 14th. There will also be a meet-and-greet after the service. (Food and drinks will be provided.) Please note that the name of the candidate cannot be released to the congregation until that date and must be kept confidential until after the vote.

The following week, on Sunday, September 21st there will be a brief congregational meeting immediately after the worship service. Members of the congregation can discuss and vote on whether or not to accept the candidate. Please plan to attend on both Sundays, and use the time in between to reflect and pray about the choice.
