As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Worship

Worship is central to our relationship with God. It is our natural reaction when we find ourselves face-to-face with our Creator who loves us. It is our hope that those who engage in a service of worship at our church will find the physical, emotional, and spiritual space they need in order to meet God and worship Him. To that end, we intentionally utilize the diversity of gifts and talents of our whole congregation in the design of our services.

Music

God has gifted our church with an incredible pool of musical talent. Weekly, we hear a beautifully restored Cassavant pipe organ and a grand piano, a keyboard, drums, and a bass guitar. On occasion our music is accompanied by a variety of other instruments such as trumpet, flute, and guitar. Vocalists lead our congregational singing and periodically share “special music” items presented in more of a performance format. In addition, we have a choir that sings weekly in our worship services and members of our Junior Choir sing from time to time.

Preaching

Historically, preaching has been highly valued and even central to the Baptist worship experience. While we do not believe it is the only — or even the most important — part of a service of worship, we do continue to highly value the unique way God connects to His people through the act of preaching. Should you choose to listen to any of the sermons posted on our website, we hope you will experience the miracle of God speaking to you through us.

Children

We believe that it is important to involve all generations in worship. We also recognize that children and adults hear from and respond to God differently. For that reason, part way through the service we invite the children to come to the front of the sanctuary for a song together, and then they can go to another place in the church accompanied by adult and teen leaders (all of whom have been carefully screened and are required to provide a clean police check). The nursery is equipped for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. The Godly Play program is intended for children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and provides age-appropriate activities and learning.
