As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Welcome to our home on the Internet. As with everything we do, we intend this website to honour God. If you like what you find here, come along and experience how we honour Him at the corner of Young and Talbot streets in Simcoe, Ontario.

What's New

1. Pastoral Care

Posted On: March 24, 2020

Anyone requiring pastoral care should contact one of the Deacons. Currently Wendy Squires is the designated person if you or your family need support. In addition to contacting her directly, you can always use the e-mail address minister@simcoefirstbaptist.ca at any time to contact the appropriate person. That e-mail address is always forwarded to the correct person, automatically and confidentially.

Even though the church office is currently closed, church secretary Shirley Cookson continues to work from home. This includes regularly checking phone and e-mail messages, so you can continue to contact the church through the usual methods.

2. Update

Posted On: March 24, 2020

Since worship services are currently cancelled, the Deacons and other volunteers are trying to make contact by phone and other means with as many members as they can to make sure everyone is doing okay, to say “hello”, and to offer help. Volunteers are available to help with grocery shopping, if needed. People are willing to call just to talk. You are not alone. The church is here for you.

The Managers are making sure the bills still get paid and the facilities are checked daily. They are also asking that you continue your tithing at this time. If you have not previously signed up for the automatic offering, you can put a cheque (no cash please) in your offering envelope, put that in a mailing envelope, and mail it to the church. (The address is at the bottom of this web page.)

“First Serving” continues to offer free meals on Mondays, but in a different format. Volunteers are preparing hot meals which can be picked up from the church between 4:45pm and 5:30pm Mondays at the Talbot Street doors. Guests won't be allowed to enter the building but can take their meal with them.

The situation continues to change regularly. Additional information will be posted when it becomes available. Thank you for understanding.
