The COVID-19 Pandemic
In mid-March of 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic that was sweeping the world forced First Baptist and most other organizations to rapidly make drastic changes to the way they operated. March 15th, 2020 was the last regular worship service for a while. Provincial health orders forced the closure of the church for many weeks. Even when allowed by law to re-open, a cautions approach was necessary to re-start worship services in the safest manner possible, resulting in only six more services for the rest of the year. But that didn't mean that all church activities had to stop. Worship was moved largely on-line, and members of the congregation found safe ways to connect with each other outside of worship. At the time of this writing the pandemic is still affecting the church. More pictures and information will be posted here as the situation unfolds.
