Ponderings from Pastor Pamela's Pen
By Rev. Pamela Fitkin
Hunkering Down, that has been my motto this past month as we all struggle with a long and hard winter. Please, please if you are praying for snow, please STOP, lol, lol. I am grateful for those who plow, salt, and make our town safe, but believe me I am sooooo done with winter.
Many of us have had the flu, and very bad chest colds. As I write a few more have come down with colds. Vitamin C is helpful and I am praying for you.
Now, hunkering down does give us more time to read, rest, and play board games. That is all fun and important, but church life does continue and thankfully we have managed to keep things going very well despite the terrible weather and our numbers dropping cold by cold.
Mentioning games, church family game night on February 20th was a blast. Play time is crucial to our well being and so much more fun when it is inter-generational.
The Seniors Valentines Tea was lovely, too. I cannot thank enough all those who helped make it a special day. Elisabeth, Diane, Alaine, and Torie, and my hubby Paul did so much to bring the afternoon to fruition. I also want to say thanks for all the emails, notes, and extraordinary verbal comments about what a special time we had. Indeed, love was in the air.
February continues to bring the love with the start of our Wednesday morning Bible Study on 1 Peter and our Men's Fellowship group, I am looking forward to participating in both!
The last week of February has me out and about doing plenty of pastoral visits and meetings right into the first week of March. Visits with you all make my heart glad!
So keep hunkering down! Praying, healing, worshipping, and loving one another is the call of the day. The good news is that in less then a few weeks the light in the mornings will be brighter as we head for another clock change and that will bring us right into the Easter season.
Until then, stay warm and healthy, and keep spreading the love, just not the germs!
With Phileo Love – Pastor P.
