Induction Service for Pastor Pamela
Sunday, April 19th at 10:30am
An induction service is a formal, celebratory worship service marking the start of a new pastor's ministry with a congregation. It acts as a covenant between the pastor and church members.
- Vows & Covenant: The new pastor reaffirms their commitment to scripture and ministry, while the congregation promises to support and work alongside them.
- Acts of Installation: A representative (e.g Regional Minister) officially inducts the pastor, often with a “laying on of hands” prayer.
- Charge to the Pastor/Church: Preaching or encouragement focusing on the roles of the shepherd and the flock.
- Celebration: A service of worship, singing, and often a social time with the pastor and their family.
- Recognition of Call: It acknowledges that the pastor has been called by God and recognized by the church community.
The service on April 19th will include special music by Sue Ferguson. Our guest speaker is Rev. John Torrance. Regional minister Rev. Carl Walters will be in attendance.
