Ponderings from Pastor Pamela's Pen
By Rev. Pamela Fitkin
So much to be thankful for!
As our focus on harvest and God's abundant blessings slows down and we start to move towards Advent, I cannot express how grateful I am to be your Pastor.
I am also so thankful for a lovely Thanksgiving season. Oscar, Torie, Alaine, Melody, and the choir made our Thanksgiving Service delightful (I heard a lot of great feedback) and we made it to our first Norfolk County Fair, where we had a blast.
I was pleased to host dinner at my house with a terrific bunch in attendance.
I am still struck by the beauty of Norfolk and have enjoyed driving through the towns and seeing the breathtaking autumn colours and the gentle blowing of the leaves. This has been one of the best Octobers in my life and next week we get to have fun handing out goodies and glow sticks for our Light in the Darkness Campaign. October 31st literally and figuratively wraps up the fall for me.
The scripture verses we looked at such as Proverbs 3:9-10, Psalm 103, Matthew 6, and Psalm 107 remind us of God's steadfast love and bountiful blessings. I pray we take the reminder of His goodness and pass it on to others, as He has commanded us in the Great Commission from Matthew 28.
Until we see one another again let us cultivate a heart of gratitude, remembering that we have so much to thank God for, especially as we witness the fall harvest.
Blessings and love,
Pastor Pamela
