As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Today's Youth Groups have their origins in the distant past of the church. Though the organizations have had many names over the years, First Baptist has a long history of offering activities tailor-made for the teens of the church and the town of Simcoe. There have been groups such as the Baptist Young People's Union (B.Y.P.U.) from 1892 to 1965, the Canadian Girls In Training (C.G.I.T.) program from the 1950s to the 1980s, and even First Baptist's first Young People's Society of 1884 all of which shared a common purpose with the current Youth Group. Many of the past youth are parents and grandparents of today's youth, showing just how important it is for youth to be involved in the life of the church.
