As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.
In 1996 many former members of the B.Y.P.U. re-united at First Baptist church. Do you recognize any of these faces from the earlier photos?
In the second row: second from left is Judy (Crabb) Stewart, fourth from left is Lana (Howting) Wallace, fifth from left is John (a.k.a. Jack) Wallace, and at the far right is Judy (Casselton) McCrory. All four can be seen in the B.Y.P.U. 1959 photo elsewhere on this site and all four still attend First Baptist regularly.
In the front row: seated second from the left is Irene (Wentworth) Crabb, who can be seen in the B.Y.P.U. 1928 photo elsewhere on this site. She was still an active member of the church at the time this photo was taken, some 68 years after her days in the B.Y.P.U.
Many of the other former B.Y.P.U. members in the photograph are still active in the church today, too. In some cases, multiple generations of the same family have participated in the B.Y.P.U. and other similar groups at First Baptist.
