Parenting for Faith
You are invited to join us as we continue to meet monthly to explore what it means to be a Christian parent.
On February 26th parents and grandparents gathered for their monthly get-together to support each other in the challenging journey of providing guidance for children and grandchildren. During the opening sharing time, two noteworthy comments were made. One child this past week said, “I love church so much … I wish we could go every day!” Another parent mentioned that it is always at bedtime that their child seems to ask very difficult questions, trying the patience of each parent! How many of us find our brains kick it into another gear when we put our head on the pillow? Why should children be any different? We re-watched a portion of Video 3 which describes five different views of God. We then broke into smaller groups to role play these views, representing God as a parent, and feeling what it is like to experience these views as a child.
Kid time summary: We made candy-coated pretzel rods to realize that “God guides us on a straight path.” We made a straight path with an endless tunnel using chairs, we marched through the library and sanctuary yelling “Every where we go,” and did a paper maze.
The next discussion is Sunday, March 26th at 9:30am.
Note: Adults do NOT have to be part of the previous sessions to attend! Hope to see you then.
