As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

She has served both full-time and part-time in other Christian ministries that used her pastoral gifts. She has fond memories of her three years working at Walmer Road Baptist in their “Gathering Spot” outreach program. She is still “besties” with Kristin Strong, the person they hired to assist her and then replace her when Pamela was called to pastor at Frank Street. Pamela has served on many committees in a volunteer role for CBOQ and thoroughly enjoyed being on the Emergency Church Preparedness Board and the Credentials Board helping new pastors navigate the ordination process.

Pamela has been married to Paul Schmidt for just over 31 years and they have a miracle daughter who will be 14 in November, 2025. There is a terrific story about their years of infertility and the birth of their daughter. It is a story Pamela loves to share as it is about God's love and safety, so please ask her!

Pamela's family also includes Aunty Pam, who Pastor Pamela is named after. Aunty Pam and Pastor Pamela share a lifetime of wonderful shenanigans and a keen interest in tea and chocolate!

God has created me to be a memory keeper and storyteller. Hence, photography/scrapbooking and preaching are deep passions for me. I sensed an early call on my life when I was six years old to “work for Jesus” and I spent the first half of my life travelling the journey of becoming a female pastor. My greatest joy is Jesus, then my daughter, and then preaching, but I have promised not to use her in any sermon illustrations. (I may have had my fingers crossed behind my back when saying that, lol).

I am grateful for my Christian heritage on both sides of my family, going back to the 1700s. That story continues…. My baptismal verse (I was baptized March 28th, 1993), Proverbs 3:5-6 remains constant in my life as I seek the Lord's will in all I do and say and pastor through and during the most difficult times of suffering. Following King Jesus' way, is my life's goal!
