As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Ponderings from Pastor Pamela's Pen

By Rev. Pamela Fitkin

Rev. Pamela Fitkin

In just a little while we will be with you full-time and we are all so excited.

We finished our ministry at Agincourt Baptist with a lovely, surprise Pastor Appreciation lunch co-inciding with the church's 72nd Anniversary and it couldn't have been lovelier. I was spoiled with speeches, gifts, a cake, and so many blessings. The majority of the blessings and prayers were all about FBC Simcoe and our new ministry life together. The send-off from them means I am eager to be with YOU. I have asked them to continue to pray for my family and I as we begin our move which will be done in two stages. Saturday, November 1st we get the keys to the new house and we have rented a truck to begin the move. The real movers come Saturday, November 8th. Please pray that the weather is good and that we are physically strengthened.

We hope to see you on November 9th for the youth service to praise and worship. It will be an opportunity for Victoria to meet some of the youth.

I am looking forward to my first official day on Monday, November 17th. Our first service together will be November 23rd, then November 30th will be the first Sunday in Advent (along with a baptism, praise and prayer, a potluck and budget/nominations meeting!) and then we head right into the Christmas season. I am looking forward to the Christmas Pageant on December 14th and spending our first, of many Christmases together.

I have attached some farewell photos from the luncheon and a Thanksgiving photo. The banner was appropriately hung on all the packed boxes in the dining room as we give thanks to the Lord for all his goodness and the years ahead that we will have together!

Until we meet again, love, blessings and heaps of joy be upon you all!

With agape love,
Pastor Pamela, Paul, Aunty Pam and Torie

Church process:

After good discussion and questions at the congregational meeting on Sunday, September 21st, Rev. Pamela Fitkin was overwhelmingly confirmed with a ballot vote as our next full-time pastor.

The pastoral search committee met 15 times from January to September, 2025. They created a job description based on the needs of our congregation and community. Five applications were received for the job. The committee felt led to interview two of those people.

Rev. Fitkin was outstanding from the first time we met her. She has experience in both rural and urban churches. She has been interim pastor for several congregations. She has experience with outreach programs. She is accepting of diversity. Her preaching is direct, thoughtful, and follows scripture. She has a heart for children and interacts well with everyone she meets.

Welcome Rev. Fitkin!
