As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Youth Group Updates

By Rick & Carolyn Bridge

January 23rd: The group met at the home of Carolyn and Rick Bridge. They talked about life since our last gathering: school, work, exams, sports, loss of a pet, family and friends dealing with serious sickness. Our lesson was “God Talk”. They discussed prayer, what it is, our habits, and God's examples in the Bible. They talked about how powerful prayer can be. God answers prayers and knows what's best for us. They wrote prayer requests and praises on paper to put in the prayer box. They spent time praying aloud in a circle each of us choosing one of the prayer concerns or praises as well as praying for the friend to the right of us. It was another fun-filled and wonderful sharing time together again.

January 9th: We opened with Ephesians 6, “the armour of God,” and had discussions around that. We went to the gym for some volleyball followed by Jenga. Our guest for the night was John Wallace. He gave us a history lesson as well as an interesting tour of the church sanctuary. Everyone was quite intrigued by John's knowledge of 500 years of history. We discussed “what is time?” and how we know it to be in the Western world as compared to others in different beliefs and cultures. John then closed in prayer with us and we enjoyed some snacks.
