Youth Group Adventures

April 12th
We started with “Mysteries from the Bible” about the many authors of the Bible and the timeline of the writings. We read two chapters of our study exploring the question “Does God get what He wants?” about His vast love in giving us free will and his yearning to have a relationship with us. We did an object lesson on putting God first by taking a bite out of their bananas that represented a week of time and $100 of money. As each day passed so did our time and money. By the time it was Sunday they didn't have much time or money left to give to God. We talked about how we can put God first so that he doesn't get the peel or the scraps. We shared about our lives, closed in prayer, and listened to a song by Lauren Diego called “You Say”.

We enjoyed a bonfire, some trampoline time and a soccer game. We read a chapter called “Rocks Everywhere” from our study book “Love Wins: How Jesus Came for Everyone”. His love and forgiveness is for all people. He comes in different ways and people come to Him in their own way and their own time. We enjoyed s'mores and hotdogs around the fire and a chocolate fountain (thanks to Tiffany Forde). We closed with an object lesson using a water balloon, a glass jar, a lighter, some paper, and a straw to demonstrate how we don't just fall into sin, but that we are tempted. It's important to protect ourselves and ask for protection and guidance to make wise and safe choices, and to choose friends who lift us up.
