Letter to the Church Family
Dear Church Members/Adherents:
We hope you are still staying safe and well during this long-lasting pandemic. Never did we anticipate that our church meeting place would be largely closed for over a year. We have been trying our best to keep in touch with our church family through this past year. Now we are beginning to plan for the re-opening, and a more normal Sunday church family experience.
Recently a combined meeting of Deacons, Managers, minister, and co-directors of church re-opening met to consider the how and when of a much anticipated return to more regular services within the sanctuary. It will not be the traditional church service of friendly greetings, handshakes, hugs, and chatting. Not yet.
But a return is planned to begin weekly in-person church services starting on Sunday, September 12th, the Sunday following Labour Day weekend.
Many of the protocols in place for the past year will still apply. These are based on directions from government and local health regulations. Many volunteers will be needed to create a smooth running and safe environment.
The Christian Education committee and Deacons are also exploring how best to allow families with children to participate safely in the new environment.
This planned hope to return is also contingent on the medical situation as the weeks go by.
It is with great joy and optimism that we may soon return to our physical church family and home.
We eagerly look forward to a new chapter in seeing each other once again in our beloved physical church home. That warm fuzzy feeling of friendship is long overdue.
Sincerely
Darrell Maguire, Pastor
John Wallace, Chair of Board of Liaison
