As a Christian church, we exist to honour God by helping local people worship God, grow spiritually, serve others, and reach their communities and the world with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

Outline of the Christian Education Program

September to December, 2021

Note: Modifications and changes will continue to be made to reflect the needs of families and children, and to meet any changes in government regulations or Covid protocols.

Nursery: This program will run weekly with two volunteers per week. The nursery toys will be reduced to approximately 10-12 items that can be disinfected at the end of each Sunday's program. The disinfecting will be done by the volunteers. All non-washable non-essential items will be removed from the nursery room.

Children's Church: Children will sit with their families for the worship service until after the children's story. Personalized activity kits are available for each child to have in their pew if desired. The minister will speak to the children without gather them at the front of the church. They will then exit to the side lawn or gym for their new “Godly Games” program.

Content: We intend to return to the Godly Play curriculum in the future. For now we are trying something completely new! The Godly Games program will use the Vacation Bible School day camp “games with a message” curriculum, followed by discussion and a drink break of juice boxes. Each week will have 3-4 games from the day camp resources for Treasured and Rocky Railway. (10 sessions total.) Games will be adapted for social distancing as much as possible. Note: these games were not used during on-line VBS camps.

Godly Play videos from the past year are still available on-line if content is desired for home.

Leadership: Janet Dickson will prepare the games and lead the discussion questions for September. One parent and 2 pre-teens will be asked to participate and demonstrate the games each week, with the additional option of the parent leading a game.

Adult leaders will have police checks as usual. Volunteers will be masked at all times. Attendance will be recorded. Children in the nursery will not be asked to wear masks. School age children will be required to wear masks except when drinking.
